two of my favorite things…

DSC09122Pink and leopard print. I will always have a soft spot for these two, and I love that I can still find ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe (even together in one look!) and not be mistaken for the toddler or chihuahua of a Real Housewife of New Jersey. I hope. This beautiful scarf was a gift from J’s mom after their last trip to Europe and I just love it. It’s the perfect length which can really make or break a scarf for me. I wore it with this pale pink top by Lush and I think they made a dreamy little pair.

I’m still getting used to being a brunette again and tweaking my clothes and makeup to best suit it, so I wasn’t sure how this light color palette would look in contrast to my dark hair but I’m not mad at it! I laugh a little inside when people tell me I can actually pull off being a brunette because I was born one! I was only a blonde for a relatively short time compared to my lifetime of being a brunette, but I had settled in quite nicely to the life of a blonde. Going so dark so quickly was a huge change even for my family (who prefers me my natural hue.)

For the record it wasn’t necessarily my choice. I went in for some lowlights to tone down the blonde a bit for winter, and the stylist didn’t fill my hair to replace all the pigment that had been removed by bleaching my hair multiple times so it turned a grayish green. Not cute. She had put in so many foils that the only way to cover it and not end up a mousy taupe was to color my whole head a dark brown. The ironic thing is I had been doing my own hair for almost a year to save money, and I have a fabulous stylist, Edison who I love, but I saw on his Instagram that he was in Vegas the day I wanted to go in so I stupidly impulsively went somewhere new…never again!! I’m sure I will be going back to blonde at some point. 🙂 Happy Saturday everyone! xx

Haha yes I do! I totally thought of you when it happened. I think since I did worse to myself when I was in Cosmetology school nothing can phase me anymore when it comes to my hair lol! She did hack off way more than I wanted and super bluntly and unevenly and I was the most upset about that. 🙁

These pictures are gorgeous! I love that blush colored coat with the leopard scarf! It looks great paired with the dark jeans, nude boots and grey bag. Perfect look!
