Ahh! I’m almost sick of my own birthday. Maybe it hasn’t been quite as bad here on the blog, but it was stretched out over a week because we celebrated late, and I’ve been so slow uploading photos from my birthday on social media so it feels like the never ending birthday! I pinky promise this will be the last mention of it this year 🙂 We did this shoot shortly after my party, but it’s taken me forever to finally get them up! The photos and shoot were so fun I wanted to share them, even if it’s obnoxious and super late.
Have you ever had a vision of something, whether it’s an outfit, a school project or a witty one liner that is so specific and perfect in your head, yet a total fail when you try to actually bring it to life? These photos pretty perfectly exemplify that. The magical glittery moment I thought we were about to create turned into…well, this.
Somehow it didn’t occur to J or I to take the wind into account. Which was blowing in the exact opposite direction as I was, resulting in a glitter disaster. I think I still have specs of glitter glued to my scalp, and it took at least two showers before it completely left my face. My clothes may never be the same. No one tells you how sticky glitter is! We tried several more times, and came up with something much closer to what I was going for!
I actually have a decent reason for being so sluggish in my uploads: college applications. The deadlines are not so conveniently placed right in the middle of midterm exams, term papers, and that point in the semester when just getting yourself to class feels like a win. Slowly but surely my apps are coming together and I will finally transfer…and be a college student for another TWO YEARS. The end/degree is in sight, and that’s what I keep telling myself 🙂 I hope you all are having a less stressful start to your November! xo
