Holiday Party Ideas ft. Nikki Marie Apparel

holiday cocktail dressI uploaded this quick fashion video of my two most recent outfit posts to my YouTube channel, so I thought I should share it here as well. It was the first video I filmed that involved full body and significant movement so I enlisted the help of my handsome photographer turned videographer and this is what we came up with. I hope you enjoy!

Though I didn’t wear it to one, this look sparked some serious holiday party ideas. As impossible as it seems that the holidays could be in full swing already, I better jump on board seeing as Thanksgiving is already behind us! Thanksgiving in LA meant 85 degrees and sunshine, which was strange and lovely all at the same time. I had a great day with my mom, stepdad, and J’s family cooking and eating. As great as it was to be together, every year I wish I could be in three places at once so I could spend Thanksgiving with both my sisters and stepmom as well. We always find a way to spread out family celebrations during Christmas to make room for everyone, but Thanksgiving is a one day kind of deal…or really one meal. A meal I’m not fond of at all, but coming from the pickiest eater ever there are really no surprises there.

I was delighted when I was contacted a few weeks ago by an old high school friend who now has an amazing fashion line! She sent me some pieces from her collection to style and post here on the blog, and I’ve been having so much fun with them. (You are all holding me accountable. I will not steal them. Repeat! I will not steal them!) This dress was the first thing I gravitated towards, and was so excited when I tried it on and it fit like a glove. I wore this entire look to an independent movie premiere at the Chinese Theatre (so Hollywood of me, I know!) that J’s dad had a small role in. It was very comfortable and I got compliments on it all night. I was pleased to inform everyone that I personally knew the designer 😛 Check out her website here to see more of her collection. I’ll also be featuring a few more pieces here on the blog very soon! Thank you Nikki!
