black and white & red all over

black and white and red all overOk, so maybe the only “red” contributing to this look is my lip color, but I’m not one to pass up a cheesy play on words. I can almost never resist the urge to add an element of color to my outfits, whether it’s a bright shoe or bag. However, when I go for a black and white look like this, I always feel very sophisticated. I’ve been known (at least in my head) to take on new personas with each look of the day/night. The woman I was this day was much more edgy than my everyday self, rocking the leather and lace combo.

I usually steer clear of peter pan necklines because I prefer to have a little collarbone showing, but this top was a gift from my sister. It may be an unlikely one, but the collarbone/décolleté area is one of my favorite personal features. I love receiving apparel as gifts, because it pushes you to try things you may not have picked out for yourself. Plus Sis has impeccable taste 😉 I felt the high neckline really balanced the short shorts and helped create a different overall look for myself, which I’m always up for! I hope you all have a fantastic rest of your week!
