Really, what is more Spring inspired than a pastel chevron print and lace up espadrille? Nothing, I tell you! Naturally, this look was entirely Spring appropriate and to my pleasant surprise, when I went up to the roof to shoot the look, there was even a glamorous little breeze up there to complement my loose “Victoria’s Secret” waves 😉 I love having sheer tops like this one on hand (in fact my closet is pretty much full of them) especially for pairing with cutoffs because personally, bopping around town in short shorts and a skimpy tank top can go one of two ways. Ironically, with that much skin showing I either come off as childish (my freckles and vertically challenged stature don’t help) or a street walker a little more risqué than I often aim for. Seeing as neither persona is really in line with my current status as a reasonably stylish twenty something, I typically choose to focus on one area if I’m going to don something a little revealing, and keep the rest of my look on the conservative side. These tops are light enough to wear in warm temps, but still cover you up when you need it! Plus this one in particular is so happy, I figure I can’t help but look a teensy bit wholesome in it. Right? I just did a shoot with J and his new, oh-so-professional camera (more on that later) that I’m very excited to share soon! I have to admit though, my pride stings just a little seeing my photos pale in comparison whenever his photography graces my blog, let alone with new gear! Not to talk the photos up too much, but they came out so great even my pride is off in the corner somewhere enjoying a glass of chardonnay, not hurting in the slightest. 😉

Hi! I just found your blog through Instagram. Looks like we have a lot in common. I moved from the Bay Area (Palo Alto to be specific) to LA about three years ago. I love it, but I get nostalgic for the bay sometimes. I love your blog… Can’t wait to see what else you post!

Hi Annika! What a sweet message! We absolutely have a lot in common. I grew up splitting my time between Redwood City and Belmont 🙂 I will always be a Bay Area girl, and have found a happy little home here in Los Angeles as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting 🙂 xo Dimitra
