I’m pretty sure everyone has that outfit (there is always photographic evidence) they wore in the past and now look back on and think, “How on earth did my friend/boyfriend/family/coworker let me out in public wearing that?!” Well, I’m honestly hoping this jumpsuit doesn’t become one of those for me one day. This was a bolder look than usual in the moment, so I’m hoping hindsight doesn’t prove to be too cruel later on. I think it’s important to push your own style boundaries once in a while, and for me that meant a full blown jumpsuit in a head to toe geometric pattern. What can I say, I’ve always been the “all-in” type. The only snag in my plan to photograph this adventurous style moment was that the jumpsuit didn’t fit me quite right. Of course, I didn’t realize this until J and I were on a busy street corner snapping shot after shot of my hair and outfit flailing around me like a tornado. Hair blowing in the wind is always ok with me, but every inch of fabric billowing out until I look like Missy Elliot in the “Supa Dupa Fly” music video, (if you’re confused, google it for a hilarious and humbling 90’s blast from the past) was not something I was prepared for. However, in the end I was able to strategically choose photos where I look a little less Michelin man and a little more J. Lo…or at least my attempt at a glam J. Lo inspired look 😉
