Do you remember that feeling of relishing in the carefree whirlwind of summer, but also itching to bust out your new school supplies and get into a routine? This outfit totally reminds me of that feeling. I want to run around in cutoff jeans and leotards all day, but I’m also drawn to backpacks and a practical button down. Except virtually none of this applies to me anymore because grown ups don’t get a three month break from reality when the weather gets warm. How destructive amazing would it be if everyone got to indulge in summer break though? Three months of sleeping in, no bills, no responsibilities, no- actually this just sounds stressful. I guess I’ve been “adulting” too long to buy into that kind of fantasy. (Also, my parents totally made me get a job and sign up for summer activities so I was ten times as busy during the summer as I was during the school year.)
Just like a new year meant an opportunity to reinvent yourself and reveal your newly brace-less smile, I constantly turn to my closet to reinvent myself and reveal who I want to be…that day. I rarely showcase an edgier side, but I picked up this black bodysuit and had some fun with it. I then proceeded to ask my mom if I could post these pictures on Instagram. Miley Cyrus can host the VMA’s 98.2% nude and I text my mom over 3 inches of cleavage. The irony. Special thanks to the construction worker who left his truck at the site over night, it really brought some grit into my already oh-so-edgy outfit.
I hope your Thursday flies by painlessly. Cheers!
